6/10
The hotel is clean, and the bed was comfortable enough, though the single bed felt small. Rooms, corridors, and the bathroom are plain and a little dated. The restaurant serves an average buffet, while the staff are friendly and the entrance is welcoming. It's right opposite the hospital, so it works well if you're visiting someone there. The location may be less useful otherwise, although Umeå Östra station is very close, one stop from the main station, and there seem to be plenty of buses. A basic three-star stay with three-star quality.

Years ago, when I was a medical student doing a training placement in the Immunology Department, I stayed at this hotel for a while. I still remember its cozy atmosphere and the lovely staff fondly.

The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and the price was reasonable for a hotel in a good location. Public transport is easy to reach right outside. Just be aware there’s no tea or coffee in the room, so bring your own or buy some.

We found the night receptionist to be the most unfriendly Swedish person we met on our trip. Parking was also very expensive. Sadly, we didn’t enjoy our stay.

Breakfast was excellent, served in a lovely dining room, and our room was great with a nice view. We came by motorbike and were allowed to park just outside by the entrance, with no objections. Check-in was easy and staffed, and the hotel was simple for us to reach, about 20 minutes from the ferry port. It suited us perfectly, and we’d recommend it to bikers travelling by ferry.
