The bed was so comfortable, and the breakfast was a real highlight, especially before a day of skiing. We had everything we needed in the accommodation and could properly unwind in the shared spaces. The spa was lovely too, with indoor and outdoor saunas and a cold plunge. We only ate dinner there one night and tried reindeer for the first time. Dinner service was okay, while breakfast service was 10/10. Loved the feel of the place, no complaints, and I’d definitely come back to Åre. Great for couples.

Everything is close at hand for both alpine and cross-country skiing. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are great, and the food is consistently good, made with local ingredients.

The breakfast was delicious, and the outdoor sauna was nice. Just note that the coat rack has no roof, so jackets can get wet in the rain, and bathrobes cost extra to rent. We only stayed one night at Åre Fjällsätra. The room was small and basic, with just towels and toiletries provided. The walls are thin enough that we could hear people snoring. The bathroom also felt outdated, and the price didn’t seem to match what we got.

The owners were lovely and helpful when we had specific questions and needed advice. We spent three nights here, and the hotel worked well as a base for winter activities like alpine and cross-country skiing, hiking, and dog sledding. There are two great saunas, including one in the garden. The lobby and shared rooms are comfortable. I liked how the historic building is paired with newer interior design.

The sauna has a lovely view, and the staff were helpful. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the excellent breakfasts, and the fine dining dinners. The bus and train are close by if you’re not arriving by car. Just check that they’re running.
