Hotell Stella

It was easy to walk around from here, and the room was clean and neat with a comfortable bed. I also got a couple of Zoom meetings done between visits with family, and the place was nice for relaxing. The free breakfast was a great start to the morning. I'll come back next time.

The beds are comfortable, it's peaceful, and it has the basics you need. Don't expect a spa, bar or room service; the place still feels like a guesthouse for what may be a former hospital. The breakfast room also works as a reading spot, and there's a fridge upstairs. Staff are rarely seen, but very kind when you do run into them. Across the street, a grocery store stays open until 23:31, and I've heard it may actually be open 24/7 through an app.

Hotel Stella was a comfortable, welcoming place to spend a week while I visited friends in Uppsala. The owner was friendly and always available, and the rooms felt relaxed and cozy. Breakfast was fresh, with a nice selection of cheese, meat, cereal, fruit and cultured milk products.

Don't spend your money here. The price is too high for the standard, the pillows were uncomfortable, and I found the food handling unsafe. Staff didn't show up to serve breakfast; when the owner served it, it wasn't ready in time for my day. He doesn't seem to understand hospitality. It felt like he just wanted to take the money and do as little as possible. I usually write reviews when things go well, but I couldn't find anything positive about this place.
