The food was delicious and made with local ingredients. I also liked hearing about the venue’s history and seeing how it’s been preserved. The people running the place were amazing, and it really is beautiful. I’d definitely recommend it!

We only stayed a short while, but I’m so glad we did. The rooms and breakfast were perfect, and your friendly service and stories about the property’s history were fascinating.
The staff are welcoming, and the buildings give the place real charm. Borghamm is wonderfully peaceful, with what I’d say are the best views in the area across the lake, plus a private harbor. It feels very local and sits right in the middle of Sweden. It’s great for relaxing or getting out into nature. I’d suggest staying at least 3 nights to see the area. After a few nights, the place really starts to grow on you.
Borghamn Hostel is in a lovely little village, close to lakes and forests. I spent my days hiking the scenery, finding trails, and enjoying the fresh air. The staff also had good suggestions for local sights and things to do. The evening hours were quiet and fun. People gathered in the lounge by the fireplace to read, play board games, or chat and share stories. The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances I needed, and it was nice to cook while talking with travelers from around the world. Meals in the dining room, with its big wooden tables, had a family gathering feel. I found my modest room clean and cozy, with rustic decor and a very comfortable bed. I slept deeply and woke up refreshed. From the moment I came through the wooden door, the staff made me feel welcome. They were friendly and professional, and I felt as if I’d come to visit friends who’d been expecting me. This was a truly magical stay that exceeded what I expected. Borghamn Hostel has a warmth and sense of community alongside its natural beauty. I left with lovely memories and a real wish to return. It’s a wonderful choice for anyone wanting nature and the comforts of home, and I’d call it a hidden gem.
I’m only rating the facilities and tent area. I didn’t order anything or rent a kayak. The campsite is in a pretty little orchard, though it’s close enough to the road that you hear some cars. The service building has a very small toilet and a heavy door with an awkward lock. The surroundings are lovely, and the harbor is a great spot for a swim if you can handle the cold water. It’s unusual for a hotel to allow camping, so I can’t complain too much.
