The afternoon fika helped us get through the jet lag, and breakfast had a delicious spread. The care showed in the decor and all the little details, too. We felt at home from the minute we arrived: the place was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully kept, just right for a Swedish getaway. What made the biggest difference was the staff. They were patient and kind with us as American travelers, and shared local tips that made our trip special. We enjoyed swapping stories each night with Ella, Lizen, Alicia, and Josephine. Thank you, ladies! We'll definitely be back when we're in Sweden again.

The spa, Lenin badet, was beyond what I expected. Such a lovely place to stay, and a really relaxing visit.

Cozy, with a style of its own, and a decent option for staying in a smaller Swedish city. The bathroom could use better facilities and somewhere to put my things. Our balcony also turned out to be a spot where other guests handled their bikes.

The rooms were quiet, cozy, and comfortable, and every staff member I met was kind, friendly, professional, and knew their stuff. Breakfast was a real highlight: cheeses, charcuterie, butter, fresh bread and fruit, herring, and plenty of condiments, plus a small selection of nicely made eggs, bacon, sausages, meatballs, and an incredible silky mushroom omelette. There were pancakes, grains with nuts and dried fruit, coffee and tea, and even a lemon, ginger, and honey shot. The late morning and midafternoon fika choices were smaller, but everything tasted top quality. There are lots of seats and sofas scattered through the lobby and library, with books filling the walls and turning up in the hallways, dining rooms, and guest rooms. The tiled staircase winds up to the main lobby, and even the elevator has folding steel jump seats. The whole place has a lot of old-world charm. The bar menu is limited but thoughtfully chosen and good quality. I also loved the tucked-away smoking lounge, with its comfortable chairs and atmosphere that made me wish I had a smoking jacket, brandy, and more time. If you're after an unusual stay that leaves you relaxed, this is a great fit.
