Varbergs Stadshotell & Asia Spa

It's quieter in the morning, but the spa can get noisy because some visitors don't follow the quiet rule. The spa is spread over three floors, with an Asia theme and one-of-a-kind details. There are several saunas and cold baths, plus a floor of relaxation rooms with a dark therapy room, cozy beds, a light therapy room, and more. Tea, fruit, meditation and yoga classes, and lovely skincare products are included. One area does have a somewhat foul smell, like sweaty feet. I love spas, and since my first visit here I haven't wanted to go elsewhere. The restaurant food is amazing, and the staff in the spa, restaurant, and reception are friendly. The breakfast buffet even has gluten-free pancakes and lots of other gluten-free options, and the restaurant staff are so service-minded. It's always a pleasure meeting them. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with lovely wallpaper and details, a very Jugend/Victorian look, and a unique design in each one. But they can be a bit noisy, and you can hear the neighbors. Be careful with the cheaper rooms on floor 6: the spa pumps are clearly audible there from 0800 AM to 0800 PM. You can hear them in some rooms on floor 5 too, though not as loudly. Just go there, it's amazing!

The stay itself was good. But now I'm dealing with a shady British parking company making a huge claim about parking that I paid for through the hotel. The hotel doesn't seem to care, and can't provide the original invoice note either. It all looks like shady business. Stay away.

The restaurant is fantastic. But the square toilet seats are awful if you've got a square butt, and using the safe means lying on the floor to reach it. Stairs, stairs, stairs, and no help with bags. Good luck figuring out the shower.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The spa is extraordinary, and breakfast was great with a wide range of food.
