The spring feeds the tap water in all the houses, so even your shower runs on spring water. There’s a beehive too, and the owner makes his own hydromel with the spring water and home-made honey. The old beer brewery in the house isn’t operating or open to visitors, but if you ask nicely, you might get to try some hydromel. It feels a bit like staying in someone’s home. The restaurant has the same old-fashioned charm as the houses, though its fireplace can’t be used either. My room, 102, had a fireplace as well, but sadly I couldn’t use it, which was a real shame since I love fireplaces. The rooms are very old, and I’d heard some are in better shape than others. My friend booked the room and dinner for me, so I didn’t get to pick the meal. I liked the idea of just eating what you’re served.
