The best part for me was the trail from the car park, which gives you a stunning view of the Västerås airport runway right by the tower. If you like spotting light aircraft and the occasional commercial airliner, you’ll be happy there. The room itself is modern, with a fridge, a big wardrobe, drawers, and a TV that should sort of work with the antenna. The shared kitchen and bathroom were fine for me after Covid. There’s also a lovely rear terrace for barbecues and sitting outside in the evening. Bring mosquito spray, and a small fan in summer, since the rooms get hot and don’t have much cooling. Aside from the airplane photos, it was well worth 610SEK.

I only needed a bed for one night, and there’s a Lidl a short drive away with a decent pizzeria next door. Still, be aware this is a hostel rather than a hotel. Most of its 10 rooms seemed to be occupied by workers from the Netherlands. The room was dusty and very basic, though the refrigerator worked, which surprised me. Showers and the two toilets are downstairs, and if you’re lucky there’s toilet paper. You get what you pay for, but it felt too high to be true. It was a bit of a shock, and I ended up not showering. Good luck.
