The pool area was nice and kid-friendly, and they offer free parking. Breakfast was okay, though I’ve had better options at other Scandics. We booked a family room for four, and I didn’t like this Scandic at all, despite having stayed at several in different cities. The hotel badly needs renovation. The floor was in extremely bad condition, the heater wasn’t enough for the room, and wind came in through the windows. The toilet looked renovated, but seemed to lack maintenance.

Basic Scandic on the edge of the small Smålands town of Växjö. It was worn and tired, but clean. Free parking.

Located in an industrial area, it’s a nice place for a company visit or work trip. There’s a sauna for anyone wanting to relax after work.

The location outside the city works well for a transit stop. The hotel has some charm and a slightly vintage feel, though it’s clearly no longer modern. Checkout until noon was a nice plus, but breakfast ending at 9:30 AM felt too early. A few things were disappointing: we had to make the children’s beds ourselves late in the evening, and the double bed had only a small blanket despite our booking being for several people. The shower gel was empty, something cleaning should have caught. At checkout, nobody asked for feedback, which made it seem like the hotel wasn’t very interested in improving.

The shower had so little pressure it felt like scooping up a handful of water and splashing it on yourself. The water wouldn’t drain, and there were holes in the duvets. The room costs 1850kr for one person 🤣 What a joke. Why do people stay here?
