The garden is huge, with a playground and a typical little Swedish playhouse for children. There’s also a nice gym, a library, games, and a very well-equipped kitchen. We even found people gathering in the library sometimes, and today we enjoyed the flea market in the basement. It’s great to see an old building put to such effective use. The three of us stayed at Körsbarskullen for three days, and we were absolutely thrilled with this little gem we found near the end of our trip. Erling welcomed us warmly and gave us a short personal introduction to the house’s history. It really is a special place, furnished with charm and brought to life with lots of thoughtful details. The countryside around it is beautiful. Bullerby is four kilometers away, and Astrid Lindgren Park is about 14 kilometers away, with easy public transport access.

The place was quiet when we visited in the off-season, so we had it all to ourselves. There’s plenty of room indoors and nice outdoor areas, and everything was clean and tidy. Staff responded quickly. It works really well for kids, and it’s close to both Vimmerby and Marianelund. We’d gladly return.

The flea market in the basement was a fun bonus, and you can still feel the school’s history throughout the building. Körsbärskullen is a beautifully renovated former school, kept fresh, clean, and spacious, with kind people looking after it. It’s peaceful and a reasonable distance from Vimmerby. We stayed here while visiting Astrid Lindgren's World, and it suited that perfectly. Very child-friendly, too. I’m impressed by the commitment to finding a good use for the buildings after the school closed. It warms my rural heart. Highly recommended.

The room was big and bright, and the school’s history is interesting, with some of it on display in the school hall. The location is handy for Bullerbyn and Astrid Lindgren's World. The downsides were small forest cockroaches in the room and shared areas. They’re not dangerous, and perhaps hard to prevent, but I’d rather not have them where I’m sleeping. The shower and toilet facilities were also very basic.

There’s a lovely food and crafts fair here, and the school’s history is documented so nicely, including the people who studied here. The former school now serves as meeting space, a hostel, and other things, run by a very active association. The overnight rooms are nice, too. Recommended!
