I was wary after reading reports about bed bugs, but I didn't run into any. The bed was clean and comfortable, and it was mostly quiet. The showers and bathrooms were in acceptable shape, though that depends partly on how hygienic other guests are. If they're all in use, you can try another floor. Bring your own slippers. The front entrance locks after 2AM, so use the back entrance and remember the password. There's a SGD10 deposit. The elevator was working, breakfast was basic and free, and the staff were friendly. It's affordable and in a safe area, though Jalan Besar MRT is a 15 minute walk away. Swee Choon Dim Sum Restaurant is nearby and worth considering for dim sum.

It was a really bad stay. The toilet was filthy, with so many bandages in it that it was full. The place was dirty and smelled awful, and the water smelled bad too. The AC wasn't on, and I had to tell the staff to switch it on. If you're travelling as a pair, I'd really recommend renting a hotel instead of staying in this capsule hotel.

It was very poor, even though I went in with low expectations. The room barely had any space, just a narrow passage under a metre wide. Only a mini bag could be kept there; larger suitcases had to go in a room on the ground floor. If your room is on the third floor, that means going downstairs every time you need something. I emailed three times about the luggage and never got a proper answer. Around 8 p.m. I was advised to move to another hostel, but they wouldn't refund me and told me to ask the provider for the money back. The pictures were of the other location. Staff were unfriendly and spoke badly about guests, even though you could hear them from three metres away.

The staff were the one bright spot, kind and helpful, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The place looked much older and dirtier than the online photos, like it hadn't been updated in 30 years. The bathroom and shower areas were especially dirty, and the toilet stall was so tiny the door wouldn't close. The lockers were broken and could be forced open even when locked. The sleeping pod bed shook like an earthquake whenever the person above moved, and the curtains didn't shut properly, so there was no privacy. People talked loudly even at 3 AM. Two AC units were blasting at the lowest temperature, making it freezing, and there was no remote to adjust them.

The capsules offered a cool, softly lit, private little space, and the place was clean. Check-in was easy, and the rules against eating or drinking inside kept out food smells and noise. You can eat downstairs in the quaint restaurant, where the simple breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I found the atmosphere quiet and orderly, a welcome bit of rest in the busy city. The main draw is the price: it's an inexpensive way to stay centrally in one of the world's most expensive cities, leaving more money for exploring. The MRT and City Square Mall are right at a busy crossroads nearby. You do share the room with other sleepers, though, and the snoring carried through the night. I learned to bring sleep-safe headphones if I wanted real quiet. It felt like a fantastic way to stay central and safe, as long as you're ready for the shared sleeping space.
