Citadines Balestier Singapore

Getting around and finding food was easy from Citadines Balestier Singapore. The staff were polite, friendly and ready to help throughout, and the service was excellent. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained, with everything we needed. It was peaceful and comfortable, like a home away from home. A great serviced apartment for a short or longer visit. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

Getting to different parts of the city was convenient from here, and the bus stop is right at the hotel entrance. I also really liked the city view from both the room and bathroom. The rooms were clean and well maintained. An excellent place.

The location is one of the better points: getting here from the airport takes about 30 minutes. But this doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. There’s no restaurant or meals, and no welcome drinks or cookies. There’s also no water in the room. You can fill a jug at reception, but after 11pm that whole floor closes, so you have to go to the gym instead. I couldn’t find the Wi-Fi spot described on the paper they gave me with the keys. The bed was two single beds pushed together, with no queen, king or prince-sized option. The bathroom safe was broken, and the bedside table and cabinet wobbled. I was told I’d still be charged if something broke, even if, for example, a glass fell off the unstable surface. The soundproofing is poor too. I could hear a child screaming next door. The shared space between my room and the next one has a door with a lock. My neighbor could lock it from their side, which would stop me getting into my own room. Reception suggested calling security from the first-floor phone or pressing the elevator’s emergency button so security could let me in. The man who told me the reception floor was closing was unpleasant and unfriendly. He just delivered the cold truth.

I had a great stay and would consider coming back. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, with buses going towards town, and Shaw Plaza is only 1-2 stops away. I booked a studio premier room for 3D2N but was upgraded to a one-bedroom premier room. Check-in and checkout at the kiosk were easy and straightforward. The room was clean and tidy, and I slept comfortably. The bed felt just right for me. There were two TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, though neither was a smart TV. The toilet was spacious and had a bidet. The fridge and washer-dryer were easy to use.
