The room was filthy and unpleasant, with dusty windows, stained blankets that felt unhygienic, and a bathroom full of mold that was dusty and poorly cleaned. On our last night, we discovered that the door had no peephole, just an open hole, so anyone outside could look in and we had no privacy. Staff were inattentive, and the old facilities, including the elevator, were poorly maintained. I've traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels, and this was by far my worst experience. It's unbelievable that the owner can't invest in basic cleanliness and maintenance. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

The room was very nice, with the essentials like tea and coffee, a toothbrush, and a shaving kit. It was very clean, the AC was already on when I checked in, and the bed was super comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only issue was that the hot water didn't really work, but I didn't mention it because I was in a rush. The lobby looked quite dirty when I checked in, more like a nail salon than a hotel, though it had been cleaned by morning. I'd recommend it for a short stay.

We spent a week at Jayleen Clarke Quay Hotel. Its central location was a real plus, and they supplied a full set of toiletries, which was handy. The room, though, felt pretty cramped for what we paid, with barely enough room to move around comfortably. If a small room doesn't bother you, the location may still make it an option.
