The lobby looked nice and felt comfortable, and the room had a mini fridge and two bottles of mineral water. They could also provide an iron on request. The room itself had a strong bad smell, like urine, which seemed to get worse as we went further in and may have come from the floor mats. The blanket was very thin, so it felt cold with the air conditioning on. The window was very dusty and grimy, as if it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. There was no bidet in the bathroom, which might bother some guests. One male front desk staff member came across as strict and not very welcoming. He also thought we were trying to sneak in an extra guest, but we weren’t.

The bathroom was poor too, with barely any water coming out, and it was only just lukewarm. The rooms were small, old, smelly, and clearly needed cleaning. If saving money is all that matters, maybe, but otherwise I’d stay elsewhere. A poor experience.

There’s plenty of good food nearby, so it’s easy to find something to eat. The place is right by the main road and easy to locate. Rooms are neat and clean, and the rates are budget-friendly, even for a longer stay. It doesn’t have the dirty, sleazy feel of some places around here. Thumbs up!

Paya Lebur MRT is only about a three-minute walk away. I booked through Agoda and got a good discount, and the price was very cheap compared with other hotels in Geylang. The room wasn’t big, but it was pretty clean and had the furniture and cupboard we needed, including a safety locker inside. I’d say it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a budget stay. I’d read the reviews after booking and was worried the room might be bad, but it was okay.
