Hotel 81 Joy

The hotel is cheaper than some others, and the cleanliness was fine. It's about a ten-minute walk from the MRT. What stood out most was the service, especially Mr. Ricky. He was really helpful, booked us a taxi, and even let us withdraw money since we didn't have cash.

The location was good, but the toilet was much too small. In the morning I found a large bed bug on the sheet and crushed it. The shower head leaked, and there were black stains scattered across the floor tiles. First stay here, and it'll be my last.

The staff were warm, polite, and helpful. They even helped my friend take a video during my birthday.

For a couple of nights on a budget, this place could do, since the rates are affordable and it's near amenities. Just be aware that the room and bathroom are both quite cramped, and I saw a few small cockroaches. There was no toothbrush, either. The room has a manual key lock. Be careful with the inner button lock, because if you push it in, the key won't open the door from outside. The TV sits on a table beside the bed, but there aren't many channels and the shows seem to repeat often. It wasn't a very comfortable stay, with several drawbacks, but it may suit someone mainly looking for an economical place.
