For around $100 a night, the price was much lower than most places I found on Booking.com, which mattered in such an expensive city. I picked it mainly for the cost and stayed three nights. Its location was the biggest plus: Bugis and Haji Lane are very close, making it easy to find food, shop, and get around. The reception staff were lovely and helpful. My superior queen room was extremely cramped, especially for two. It was on the ground floor right beside reception, with barely enough room to open our suitcases. It might work for one person. The floor looked dusty and dirty when we arrived, and the bathroom floor was wet. The shower never warmed up, so we had cold showers every night. Some wooden floorboards had gone black, possibly from mold or water damage, which made us uncomfortable. We wore slippers the whole time, including in the shower. The walls let through everything from nearby rooms and outside. The mini fridge barely got cold, and all the lights were harshly bright, with no softer or dimmer setting. If you don't like sleeping in complete darkness, that could be inconvenient. It's an option if you're on a tight budget and location is what matters most. If comfort, cleanliness, and room quality are important to you, you may want to pay a little more somewhere else.

Very clean throughout, and I liked the toilet. The room itself is tiny, but the location is very good. The receptionists were unbelievably gentle. They had bottled water, coffee, and a boiler for water in the room.

The room was small, but that wasn't an issue for us. The hotel is in a great spot, and the staff were very polite and professional.

I mostly used the buses during my stay instead of the MRT, and there's a stop right in front of the hotel for getting downtown. It's in Kampong Glam, close to Masjid Sultan. For late-night hunger there are lots of HALAL restaurants and a 7-Eleven.

The area outside the hotel smelled of sewage. In my room, there was a constant, piercing noise from a bathroom sink leak, and some pump or electrical equipment nearby made noise all night. I couldn't sleep. The room doors offered no soundproofing, so every sound in the hall and beyond came through. People at the restaurant beside the hotel were also making loud cleaning noises late into the night, which made the door problem worse. There are only two room types, with a Jacuzzi or WITHOUT WINDOWS, which felt very depressing. In room 103, lights couldn't be switched on after midnight. I'd booked online and knew a Singapore room under 90 USD might be basic, but this was far worse than I expected. Awful. Avoid.
