It’s a self-service capsule, so you need to follow the instructions carefully. They let us leave our things a few hours before check-in. For a short stay to sleep and shower after a hectic day, it’s not that bad. You get what you pay for, though. Definitely not for families.

The pod itself was the only remotely decent part, and it couldn’t make up for the dirt elsewhere. The dorm smelled of sweat, while one of the two bathrooms had an overwhelming mix of urine and bleach. The toilet and shower were squeezed into the same space with no separation. A mouse was near the shoe rack when I arrived, and the next morning I spotted a dead mouse by the door. Same one or a different one?! It was still there the day after. The dorm is above a club, so loud music thumped until late. After that, people were still talking, on video calls, and watching TikToks at 2 in the morning. Check-in was a hassle, and the place smelled damp and musty. This wasn’t worth one star, let alone the price.

The capsules felt like toys, with no plugs or anything functional, and were actually made of cardboard. I felt scared enough to change beds because I didn’t want to sleep near a drunk, unbalanced guest who was noisy and drinking in the room. Another girl and I warned him several times, but he laughed, kept making noise late into the night, and had video calls until 12 am. I called reception several times on the intercom, but nothing happened. I emailed and sent WhatsApp messages that night with photos and evidence. They replied, “we are sorry. when we arrived the man had already left”. I left at 9 am and he was still there, so staff didn’t deal with it until around noon. What good are apologies if he’d become violent? What does this hostel do in an emergency? Fine you for letting drunk guests beat you? It was all self-service, so I saw no one, only instructions and warnings about fines that shouldn’t be useful, so don’t heed them. It’s hard to pick Singapore’s worst hostel, but this one is in the top 3.

For a short stay of two nights, it wasn’t so bad. The rooms and sheets were clean, and there was a fridge plus a corridor with tables and plugs for working. The rooms felt quite safe. The bathrooms were really dirty, which is a shame. There was only one toilet available, the bidet sprayers were broken, and there was no hand soap anywhere. I wasn’t expecting body or hair soap, but still. The floors were quite dirty too, and the carpets were black, with a dead cockroach by the entrance door. Guests should leave their shoes at the hostel entrance. My advice to backpackers is not to come to Singapore. Hostel quality gets worse every year, and they take advantage of the high demand from immigrants and tourists. Prices don’t match the service. Coming at the end of June like I did, I guess you have to pay at least 45-50 $ to find an appropriate hostel.

I saw the room and left immediately. It was horrible.
