OSS Backpackers Hostel

The friendly, helpful staff and reasonable price might make this look like a great place to stay, and it's conveniently near Little India and the metro. But it felt less like a hostel and more like permanent housing for men renting beds for months. The smaller rooms' double beds were overbooked, so we each ended up in a single bunk in a room with men who were clearly living there. I felt uneasy and unsafe and didn't know what to make of it. The bathrooms were filthy, with urine across the floor, nowhere near the toilet. It was so gross I had to throw away some socks. For a little more money, you could stay somewhere much cleaner. From what I could see, this wasn't an isolated experience.

We stayed in the shared room with four double beds. The beds were comfortable and spacious, and the layout still gave you some privacy despite sharing with other couples. The air conditioning kept the room cool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hostel is well located near restaurants and Little India. The shared kitchen isn't set up for cooking, but it has a microwave, fridge, kettle, and toaster. The bathrooms and showers got dirty and smelly quickly, even though they were cleaned frequently. A lot of guests were hacking and spitting into all the drains despite signs asking them not to. It was really grotesque.

I was here for two weeks and got upgraded to a bigger bed. It was comfortable, with plenty of space. The staff were very friendly. The free breakfast does need to be requested, though. One of the tenants I stayed with was moody and entitled. All in all, I enjoyed my time here and will come back next time I'm in town.

The beds are arranged to give you more privacy, and there are plug sockets beside each one. The rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a good location, just a five-minute walk from the metro. Breakfast was okay, about what you'd expect from a hostel. The only thing I wasn't keen on was having only unisex bathrooms on my level.
