Oasia Residence Singapore

I spent over six months here last year, and it was a fantastic place to live. There are lots of local food options a five minute walk away, and the pools are nice and usually quiet. The staff were super friendly and nice.

There are some good food options on site, with breakfast served from 7-10 am and plenty of choices. They can pack breakfast early if you ask and need to leave before 7 am. The small ground floor restaurant does pizza, burgers, pasta, waffles and more. Nearby, there's a park that's great for walking, running or playing. The room was big, well cleaned and had a great view. Cleaning is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week. The kitchen has utensils and an induction cooktop. The gym and pool are on the 7th floor. There's also a tennis court on the top floor, but you need to book ahead and tell reception about your guest. Getting around is the downside. The only MRT lines are the green line (Clementi) and yellow line (Hawpar villa), and they're quite far away. West coast Bus stop is there, but it's a 5-10 minute walk. There aren't many food courts nearby.

The hotel is nice, but breakfast is really limited. They don't have scrambled eggs, even though you can find eggs at cheap hostels.

The male front desk staff were consistently polite, helpful and supportive, and a few of the women were kind too. Others wouldn't reply, say good day or even smile. A warm smile really can change your day. We were placed here by my husband's company while moving from Dubai to Singapore, and stayed for almost a month and a half. The washing machine in our room was dirty with grease inside the drum and around the rubber seal. We were told to use an empty room's machine until ours was cleaned. Even after that, it made a terrible noise during every spin cycle. I reported it to housekeeping several times, but nothing was done, so I had to use the lowest spin setting. Room cleaning was on schedule three times a week at first, but later the staff arrived very late and rushed through it. One bathroom drain smelled awful, and repeated reports didn't lead to a fix. They said they avoided water and soap for sustainability, and I only saw them wipe the bathrooms with a towel that seemed to be used for every bathroom on the floor. That felt unhygienic. The most embarrassing moment was when I took a few bakery items from the residents' complimentary breakfast pantry for my son's school snack. A woman questioned me in front of other guests about whether I was a resident, then said I couldn't take food outside. She could have told me privately instead.
