Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore

We’ve always chosen Rasa Sentosa on Sentosa for its service, food, private beach, and activities. This time we couldn’t get close to the beach because of crocodile sightings. The resort sits at the end of Siloso beach, near the cable car, tram, and buses, and it also runs a shuttle across to the mainland. The service was top notch and welcoming throughout, from Kathleen Grace at Front Office, Tara at Business Lounge, and Leo with Pool Activities to everyone else we met. The rooms have been refurbished, though I miss the louver windows, maybe that’s just me. They’ve been replaced by very thick blackout curtains. I liked some of the eco touches, like the aircon switching off when the balcony door opens and coming back on when it’s shut. The toiletries are comprehensive, and the good-size toothpaste comes separately from a good-size toothbrush, so there’s no need to waste another brush to get a tiny toothpaste tube. The room has plenty of international power points, drinking water, coffee and tea, beach slippers, and even a pretty tote bag. The water and ice dispenser in the corridor on every floor is a godsend in this tropical resort. The pool and beach access were good, but our sleep wasn’t: the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and the sheets rustled noisily when tugged. The TV resolution and Bluetooth speaker on the side table were so poor they made the resort feel cheap. Hope to come back for a better experience.

It’s easy to get around the island from here, either by shuttle or cable car, and everyone we met was helpful and smiling. Our room was beautiful, clean, and well equipped, with attentive, friendly accommodation staff. We loved the breakfast selection, pools, and other amenities. There are also fun things to try on the private beach, like SUP, kayaks, and pedal boats. We loved our stay at Shangri-la Sentosa and would highly recommend it.

Our little ones loved every day of our 11-night stay, with the kids’ club, kids’ pool, and plenty of activities on the beach and elsewhere. Breakfast was another highlight, with lots of options for everyone. The service was spectacular: everyone was friendly and attentive, making the stay feel effortless. Room service was convenient and consistently good. They also left small goodies and treats in our room, which made us feel very welcome. A great choice for families, and we’d happily return.

The beachfront setting had a lovely island-escape feel, making our short getaway seem much longer. We also enjoyed the excellent breakfast variety at Silver Shell Cafe, the well-maintained pool, and easy access to the beach. Jennifer Chung was professional, warm, and attentive, and went above and beyond to look after us during our wonderful three-day, two-night stay. At the pool, Zul, the lifeguard, was friendly and approachable while staying vigilant, which was reassuring. They’re both a credit to the Shangri-La brand. Please share our appreciation with them and their department heads. Thanks for the great hospitality. We’re already looking forward to visiting again.
