The price and location are the only real positives. If you want a “valuable” hotel at a cheap price, it might suit you, but I don’t think Singapore is a good place for a value trip. There are plenty of other countries near Singapore where you can travel on a budget. Everything else you can imagine goes in the cons.

The room was tiny and poorly maintained. I found a fingernail on the bedsheet, plus dust and cobwebs on the ceiling. At check-in they told me to wait 10 minutes because the room lock was busted and they couldn’t open it. Why wasn’t that checked before I arrived? They had to clear another room for us, which meant waiting an additional 30 minutes. The fridge was dirty, and the shampoo bottle was empty, so I had to ask for a refill. I’d requested housekeeping at 9am, but they didn’t come until 5pm. Then the fire alarm went off around 3am, frightening everyone and waking them up. It was a bad experience for us, and we won’t come again. Spend your money at another hotel near Lavender MRT.

The hotel is well placed, within walking distance of the MRT, and if you walk a bit farther, you can reach Mustafa too. There are eateries nearby as well. I stayed a few nights in January 2024, and it was memorable. The room was very clean and suited me well as a solo traveler. It was small, but that was fine for one person. There are bigger family rooms, though they cost more than the usual rooms. The receptionist, an older auntie, was warm, friendly, and talkative, which made the atmosphere feel welcoming. I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return if I had the chance.

The area is quiet, which I liked. There’s a bus stop and MRT station nearby, two affordable restaurants, and a 24-hour hawker center not far away. I’d been worried after reading the reviews, but the place turned out to be quite nice. The room might feel too small if you like lots of space, but it was more than enough for me. If I return to Singapore, I’ll stay here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE, IT'S A HEALTH HAZARD! My room was infested with mold when I checked in. I saw the photos and didn’t think twice about staying. I booked another local hotel straight away and will be seeking a full refund. There was rubbish in reception and the corridors, and the room was moldy and stank. I didn’t even want to consider another room. I left immediately. Don’t stay here!
