Summer View Hotel

We’ve stayed here on all four of our Singapore visits. It’s our regular choice because the location is fabulous, with places like Bugis street/market within walking distance. The rooms have always been clean, and the staff members are phenomenal.

The only real drawback for us was the noise. Sound travelled easily from the lobby, other rooms, and the street, and it woke me a few times at night. Still, my family rested well overall and had a great vacation. The hotel is near Bugis and the MRT, and the facilities were good. There’s no breakfast, but the free instant noodles and snacks in the room meant we could eat whenever we wanted. Staff were friendly and professional, and I’d choose Summer view hotel again on a future trip.

The convenient location near the MRT and affordable price were positives. Most of the stay, though, was frustrating. My room hadn’t been cleaned properly and the floor seemed unswept. There was poor soundproofing and a lot of noise, the bathroom supplies felt low quality, and the water pressure and temperature kept changing. The fire alarm went off several times in the morning for no apparent reason, disturbing my rest, and management never explained what happened. At the front desk, the Indian female staff member had a very bad attitude and came across as condescending.

The more expensive room had an older TV with a very blurry picture and only four channels, while the standard rooms apparently have digital TVs. I raised the problem with the front desk, but they ignored it and offered no fix. I was genuinely upset by their attitude and lack of effort. The facilities were worse than in the standard room, and the room definitely didn’t feel worth the price.
