We loved spending time in this peaceful, quiet area. The old house has been renovated with care and is full of lovely little details. It felt magical.

A lovely Slovenian etno atmosphere, close to the gorgeous Pokljuka highland and Triglav national park.

We were very disappointed and sorry to be treated this way. This was the first time we’d had an experience like it, and as guests in a rental we wouldn’t have done anything without the owner’s permission, let alone lit a fire in a historic house. The apartment is beautiful and in a quiet neighborhood, but the owner was very unpleasant when she came by the day after our arrival. She seemed to hold a grudge against us and said she hoped we’d never come back. The owner’s niece had greeted us, handed over the keys, shown us around, and explained everything. Because it was very cold, we asked her to turn on the heating. She said we could use the radiators and light the kitchen stove. That evening, after dinner, my husband and dad lit the stove. A while later, the niece came running downstairs, saying smoke was coming from her apartment. She called a friend, and they poured water into the stove to put the fire out. Afterward, she admitted she hadn’t explained how to light it and that this was her fault. She brought us two small electric heaters. We then noticed that paint had peeled off the fireplace door. We were out all the following day. When we got back, the owner turned up. It seems the niece had left after telling her aunt her own version of what happened, so we never had a chance to discuss it with her first. Instead, the owner confronted us.
