The area is beautiful and peaceful, and the location is great. It’s a charming, small traditional Slovenian house in a rural setting. The hosts were lovely and helpful, and responded quickly whenever we asked for anything. Breakfast was filling and plentiful, and our kids loved it. Highly recommended.

We stopped here for one night during our bicycle trip from Trieste to Lubjana, and it was the only bad stop of the trip. The hosts came across as unfriendly and only interested in money. Branco sat close by watching what we did, and seemed to keep an eye on us all the time, even in the morning. After every shower he checked the bathroom. If there was water on the inside shower door, he would explain how to shower without getting a drop on the bathroom floor. Thankfully, he didn’t do that after using the toilet too. Branco sells Laško beer for 3.5€, which is very expensive compared with other places, and wine for 20€. They give you glasses if you buy a drink. But when our group of nine asked for a salad bowl, we waited 40 minutes while he discussed with his wife whether we could have one. They had plenty of bowls, but eventually gave us a dog bowl, as shown in the picture. When we asked for aluminium foil, he asked what we needed it for and said, “you don’t need it”. Amazing. At 22 o’clock he told us we “must go to sleep”, in his words. He said other guests had paid more than we had for their room, 500€ compared with our 200€, and our area was close to where they ate, so we might disturb them. It seemed like he wanted everyone in bed because he was going to sleep at 22h and couldn’t keep watching us. We had booked a tent but weren’t allowed to put it up. Instead, he made us take the straw option in the chicken coop, which turned out to be very cool. It didn’t feel safe, though: there was a moving ladder to get into the “flat”, and the stairs to the toilet were very dangerous at night because there were no lights, as shown in the pictures. The wife didn’t say hello to everyone, and it seemed she didn’t say it to us, the “plebs”. They were absolutely not friendly. Please stop receiving guests if you don’t like people or life. Close your air bnb and open your heart. You’re only in it for the money.

We got useful tips from the owners for day trips, and they were very kind. There are amazing views and it’s a great area for hiking and cycling. We parked at the former ski lift parking lot for 2 €/day and set off from there.

The area is beautiful, and the apartment itself was nice, clean and spacious. I was disappointed because we were looking forward to having a sauna in the apartment. The listing says all apartments have one, but that doesn’t seem fair: the bathrooms have a steam cabin that’s meant to work as a steam sauna, so it isn’t really a sauna. In our apartment, the cabin only worked as a shower.
