B&B Pri Cesarju

Guest House Pri Cesarju made a great base for exploring Kamnik, the nearby mountains, and Logar Valley. The rooms are a little tight, but modern, comfortable, and immaculately clean. There’s a very good pizza restaurant downstairs with budget-friendly prices. Gated parking is available, though it’s first come, first served.

Frank and his staff work hard to make sure guests have a good experience, and check-in was very quick. The beds were comfortable, the modern rooms had a country charm, and the showers had strong water pressure. Rooms are up a flight of stairs, and there’s free on-site parking. The street-level pizzeria served excellent food. Breakfast was well prepared, with plenty of delicious choices, though it wasn’t included. The town is a typical Slovenian one near Ljubljana Airport, with a small modern shopping mall at its south end for any last-minute purchases before flying out. A wonderful stay.

Breakfast was hearty, and the rooms were spotless and neat. The owner who greeted me was friendly and straightforward, and check-in took hardly any time. I only had an American plug adapter, so when I asked, he lent me an EU one for my stay at no charge. Downstairs, the guest house has a pizzeria serving Neapolitan-style pizzas. I’d put them among Slovenia’s five best. The menu also lists pasta, salads, and other dishes, and the tiramisu I tried was very good.

Kamnik is a lovely town, and the hotel makes a handy base for seeing Slovenia. A direct train to Ljubljana departs almost right beside it. We spent three nights here, with cozy rooms and friendly staff providing excellent service. Highly recommended!
