We tried several dishes from the set menu with wine pairings and enjoyed every one, including the beef and veal that aren’t pictured. It’s a charming place at the top of town. A bit more expensive, but worth it.

It’s a great spot for a stay, a meal, or best of all, both. We loved the views over Smartno and beyond, the creative food, and the lovely hosts. Eva was also kind enough to share recommendations for wineries, e-bikes, and the region.

We only came for dinner, not an overnight stay, and had a great time. The service was charming, and there was a nice range of local dishes in a beautiful setting in the center of Smartno. We’d definitely come back.

We came for dinner and loved the steak, mashed potatoes, and tomato vegetables. Milan, our waiter, was attentive and had good recommendations.

We spent one night at Marica and had a lovely stay. The woman running the place was friendly and helpful, and made us a delicious breakfast the next morning with fresh, local food. We also had the restaurant’s tasting menu for dinner, one of the best meals we had in Slovenia. A real gem!
