Bed & Breakfast Na Poljani

I stayed here a few years ago and was really pleased with the room, which was nice and quiet. The owner was a very pleasant person to chat with about the area and Slovenia, which I was visiting for the first time. If my travels bring me this way again, I'll book here. P.S. His kids were very happy that evening to see Romanian money, 10000 and 50000 at the time.🤭

The owner lady was lovely and shared lots of tips for Ljubljana and nearby places. We spent two nights in our camper in the garden, with no electricity hookup, but we could use power from the house, as well as the toilets and water. It was easy enough to take the bus to Ljubljana, about a 25-minute ride, and we stayed two nights to have a full day there. She also sells homemade tea and jam, both delicious.

The hosts welcomed me so kindly. I had trouble finding the farmhouse because the highway was dark and it was hard to see outside. When I called, they kindly drove down to guide me there. They offered freshly baked cake and fresh orange juice made from their own farm. My room was in a separate but adjoining wing, which gave me good privacy. It was warm and well equipped, and there was a tea and coffee maker and a TV in the shared area. A lovely family and a great example of Slovenian hospitality. I'll definitely return.

We only stayed one night, but loved it. Seeing the sheep in the backyard took me back to my childhood in the country. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the host was wonderful. It's great value, with plenty of parking, just off the motorway in a very quiet setting. I really recommend it.
