The pool area needs some attention. The water you walk through before getting in was dirty, which felt pretty gross, and the pool itself seemed a bit unclean. The sunbeds were worn and somewhat dirty too. Fixing up the pool and its surroundings would make a real difference. Elsewhere, the hotel was good: a great base for exploring the city, with a beautiful view, clean and pleasant rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast, and very nice service and staff.

The breakfast was great, but the rest of my stay was rough. There was no hot water for all three nights, the bathroom smelled bad, and half the lights in my room didn’t work. The hotel itself feels old, with decor straight out of the 90s.

Across from the hotel there’s a grill place with a fantastic Slovenian-style patty. It was about as big as my face and possibly the best grilled patty I’ve ever had. At the hotel, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the place is a good size. There’s no tea or coffee setup in the room, though they can provide a kettle if you ask. Reception speaks English and was very helpful.

Breakfast was amazing, easily 5/5, though I’d put the service at 4 stars. The rooms were clean but not very nice, and the bathroom was a disaster. People know this as one of Kranjska Gora’s most famous hotels, but I think that’s mainly because it’s so big. The location is okay since you’re in Kranjska Gora, but it’s on the opposite side from the interesting spots, like Lake Jasna and Mad Pehta The rollercoaster from the ski. You do have to walk a bit, but that’s fine.
