Antiq Palace Residences

Being right in the center is convenient, but getting to the hotel by car is awkward. You have to call the desk to get someone to open the barrier, unload your luggage, then move the car to a garage that costs 25 euros a day. The building is attractive and historic, though it’s very run down: broken furniture, stained carpets, and a spacious, old-fashioned room that needs renovation. The bed felt old, the windows wouldn’t shut properly, and there’s no air conditioning, which was awful in summer temperatures above 30 degrees. Breakfast was the worst part. The eggs were dry and seemed old, there was no fresh fruit or juice, and the bread was just toast slices and something croissant-like that wasn’t really a croissant. The only yogurt came in plastic cups and was disgusting. I can’t recommend the place. I hope the owners take the many similar comments seriously and invest in renovation and better facilities.

The suite was spotless and roomy, with two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom with a shower and jacuzzi, and a separate toilet. The linen and bedding were exceptional, and I stayed there for two nights with my two kids. The historical building is right in the heart of the old town, a minute from the river and bridges and from Congress Square. Ljubljana history's museum is next door. There are portraits in the lobby of celebrities who have stayed there, maybe yours will be next 😉 Special thanks to the staff ❤️ I believe we’ll come back!

The location is good and the staff were okay, they did their best. Still, 140 euros a night is not acceptable for this hotel. In Greece, that amount would get you a palace. Two stars is enough.

We had a small suite that was clean, with a comfortable bed, though it looked a little tired. The shower curtain didn’t reach around the bath, and there was an unpleasant smell in the toilet. We mentioned both when we left. Breakfast was a bit lacking, and since there’s no restaurant, they did give us good dinner recommendations. The location is great, but you can’t drive right up to the hotel. We had to use the Lidl car park, which wasn’t cheap.
