Apartments Vila Apolonia

Ljubljana was great, and Slovenia is stunning. We were there in October 2022 in a lovely, modern apartment above a good little local restaurant. Renting a car is worth it so you can explore.

We found the apartment disappointing. There was a constant buzzing at night from the electricity room next door, and the busy road and building workers added to the noise. We only dealt with the person in charge through WhatsApp, with no in-person contact. It might suit someone who sleeps very soundly.

A clean, comfortable place where it was easy to relax.

Parking right outside was handy for arriving by car, and the accommodation was spacious, with a terrace and plenty of outlets. But for what we paid, it was far too expensive, even for just two nights. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom, and it smelled damp and moldy. The shower was grimy and run-down, badly in need of renovation, and after one shower the whole bathroom flooded. The air conditioner was very dirty and smelled unpleasant too. The bed's headboard was against the restaurant storage room wall, so there was noise until 11:00 PM. The room was also so bright that we couldn't darken it, and we ended up rigging blankets over the window ourselves. The host wasn't on-site and didn't respond to messages when problems came up. The neighboring restaurant handled the key handover. Its staff were very friendly, but they weren't the apartment's owners and couldn't help us. The previous tenants' trash hadn't been taken out, the Wi-Fi didn't work when we arrived, and the pictured and described washing machine wasn't there at all.
