Best Western Premier Hotel Slon Hotel

The staff made our week at Best Western Premier Hotel Slon especially pleasant. Before we arrived, Tjaša Žužek answered my questions and arranged an airport shuttle. Aljaž Hudrap helped plan and book our day trips to lakes, caves, waterfalls, a valley, and a beach. At reception, Elizaveta and Munis were always ready to help with a smile, and Mirjana and Fatima from housekeeping were just as willing to assist. The location is right in the heart of the city, with the main sights, shops, and restaurants an easy walk away. We had a spacious, thoughtfully designed superior deluxe double room, and the breakfast had a generous range of food. The service, comfort, and convenience were all lovely. I’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting Ljubljana.

The location is outstanding, within walking distance of the old city and anything important, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The buffet staff worked incredibly hard and were so pleasant, even checking in with me every few days. We’d planned to stay four nights before taking a tour through Slovenia and Croatia, but I developed a dental abscess that needed a complex procedure and had to remain in the city for suture removal. The hotel was nearly full, but the front desk manager and crew were so understanding and pleasant that they found me a room for the rest of the trip. The room was a little worn, but comfortable and more than adequate. Pretty much everyone in the country speaks English, so communication is easy. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The best part was being right in the city centre, and I’ll pick this hotel again when I come back to Ljubljana. My single room was huge, with a cool atmosphere, two chairs, a desk, and even a sofa, so it felt more like a family room. The bathroom was clean and spacious, breakfast was really good, and the staff were amazing and friendly. Thanks for everything, and don’t forget to buy the cool little elephant.

The rooms are clean, large, and spacious, though the furniture is dated and has a certain Yugoslav chic. Breakfast was excellent, the staff professional and friendly, and it was the first hotel I’d stayed at with all sports channels. Parking is available for €30 per day. Hotel Slon has a unique charm in Ljubljana’s pedestrian zone. Although the address is Slovenska cesta 34, hotel guests are allowed to drive to the entrance. Signs at each entrance to the pedestrian area say this in Slovenian, so don’t put the street address into your GPS. Instead, use a location at the zone’s edge. From AUT, Maribor (SI), or Ljubljana Airport, enter Gosposvetska street 1, drive into the pedestrian zone at that intersection, and continue about 200 m; Hotel Slon will be on your left. From Zagreb (HR) or Trieste (IT), enter Šubičeva street 1, go straight into the pedestrian zone, and continue about 200 m; the hotel will be on your right.
