Hotel Katrca 1905

The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was good overall. But I couldn't get breakfast one morning, despite having paid for it. The flyer at the entrance gave a start time that turned out to be an hour earlier than the actual breakfast schedule. It also said reception should be open, but it wasn't. The room stayed cold even with the heater running nonstop, and on our last night the heater was completely cold.

We liked Hotel Katrca's nice room and very good breakfast. We stayed in the penthouse, though, where there's a lot of wooden structure overhead, and some of us kept hitting our heads on it.

The hotel's service generally falls short of the standard. The room is old, and water tends to collect easily in the toilet. The room light flickers and hasn't been repaired.

Three families with children, including ours, arrived in mid August when it was 34 degrees outside. The rooms were hot, so we wanted to use the AC. One room had a horrible mold smell coming from the AC. In mine, the machine was visibly filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. My child has asthma, so I didn't dare turn it on in case it seriously harmed him. I contacted the manager. The other family got a small fan, but it didn't cool the room. I spent one night there, hot and sweaty, then left before the second night because staying was impossible. The shower cabin in our friends' room was broken, and our fridge smelled awful. Breakfast was food that seemed to be from the day before yesterday. The manager was unpleasant and refused to refund the second night, arguing that the AC had been cleaned. The picture shows otherwise. It was a dirty, filthy place.
