Patrick's Pub

Patrick’s Pub served very good food, and most of the pub staff were lovely during the first few days. But one woman working there was rude and made things uncomfortable. She accused us of leaving our drinks unpaid, even though we had paid when ordering, as we normally do. Another staff member intervened, so we weren't charged twice. Her manner felt very unprofessional. The accommodation was a letdown from the moment we arrived. After travelling overnight, we were exhausted and came early in the morning. We knew check-in wasn't until 2pm, but there was nobody to help or explain anything. We eventually found someone, who wasn't especially welcoming. We could leave our bags and return at 2pm. The room was far smaller than the photos suggested, and its condition was extremely poor. There were stains on the sheets and hair in the bed, which was shocking. The bathroom was clean, though. Nobody cleaned the room during our week, brought us towels or toilet roll, or explained where to find more. Each morning we had to use a back exit onto an alley with construction going on. It didn't feel safe, and the ground was covered in cigarette butts, which was unpleasant as a non-smoker. It's presented as an Irish bar, but it's not owned or run by Irish people and doesn't reflect Irish culture. That wouldn't be a problem by itself, but the way it's advertised feels misleading. I'd urge people to think carefully before booking. This place needs serious improvement, and our experience was very disappointing.

The pub had a warm, welcoming feel, and the staff were friendly, so it was an easy place to settle in for the evening. The Guinness was high quality and poured just right each time. We enjoyed the snacks with our drinks too.

It's in a great spot, and the Guinness on tap is poured properly, which I appreciated. Service was a little better than average. A dependable pub for a casual stop, though nothing especially memorable.

Really liked the atmosphere, and the food was amazing. Our waiter was nice too. I'd definitely recommend it!
