We forgot to book ahead for our group, so make sure you do that! The place itself was clean and nice, and the people working there were kind and friendly. They also have a lovely cat.

We stopped by in May for a break after walking. It didn’t look open, but inside we found friendly staff and warming bowls of soup. A nice place to sit, with a great view.

A clean, pleasant hut in a great location, with friendly staff and good food. It’s an ideal starting point for hikes on Stol. Getting there by car means paying a 10EUR ticket to open the barrier, then continuing along about 7km of gravel road.

The shelter sits in a beautiful area, and the rooms are comfortable. If you’re coming by car in July-August, keep in mind there’s an extra 10 euros to pay each time you enter on the forest road. It’s quite winding and steep.

Our daughter had a summer job here, so this was a good place for a Czech tourist like me to stay. The owner Janes was very generous and friendly, and I really appreciated the time we spent with him. It’s also a nice base for hiking up Stol or taking other routes.
