Nature lovers might enjoy the area's leafy green parks and hike up to the basilica and monastery at the top of Sveta Gora, seven kilometres away, to take in beautiful views of the valley and even see as far as Venice on a clear day.

The quiet daytime atmosphere suited us, though evenings are centered on gaming. Most of the guests seemed to be Italian retirees and organized groups, which gives the place a particular feel. We spent one night at this resort, with its hotel, casino, spa and entertainment. The rooms were comfortable and practical. After a long drive, the pool area and its two jacuzzis were a welcome way to unwind. Spa access is limited to one visit per stay, and the sauna costs extra, which felt like odd rules. Breakfast was basic, with scrambled eggs, cheese, cold cuts and pastries, and only sliced tomatoes for vegetables. There’s a nice bar for a quiet drink in the evening, and a glass of pelinkovac hit the spot. A good short-stay option if you want some entertainment too.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel seemed very well maintained. Staff were helpful and professional throughout our stay. Breakfast had a good variety and was well organized. There’s plenty to do here, from the spa, pool and sauna to the restaurants, where the food was good quality. The casino adds a lively feel. Perla Resort & Entertainment worked well for a comfortable stay with time to relax and enjoy the entertainment. I’d recommend it.

The staff were the best part for me, so kind and helpful. The self-service restaurant had good food and plenty to choose from, and the casino was entertaining too. A nice place to spend time in Nova Gorica, with a pleasant atmosphere.

I was here for a three-day conference, and they made me really tasty vegan meals. The room was clean and cosy, and having a pool at the hotel was a great bonus.

Not recommended. The hotel feels old-fashioned and needs renovation, and it’s too expensive for four stars. My room didn’t have basic facilities, and breakfast had a limited selection. The garage was poorly marked, and getting back to the car meant navigating a maze of several elevators. Staff seemed inexperienced, and the receptionist, especially the blonde woman, was unfriendly.
