Marina Portorož - Residence

Breakfast at Štrega Brunch Bar was a real highlight, with good coffee and tasty homemade food. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt at home. We also liked the quiet setting and free parking, and the location worked perfectly for us. My business partner and I spent one night at Sea Resort Marina Portorož. We had a drink at Koželj Wine Bar, then a lovely dinner at the restaurant. The room upgrade was a nice surprise: clean, cozy, and comfortable, and we slept really well. We'd happily come back, maybe to cycle along the coast.

The town itself didn't have much charm for us, with its large hotels and clubs, and nothing felt special. For sailors, the marina is costly, 105€ for a 10.5 m sailing yacht, and the berths are quite narrow. We asked over the radio what the buoys cost, but staff only told us to come in and that the price would be decided there. When we arrived, there were no buoys, which nobody had mentioned on the radio, and we paid the marina price. It was one of the worst places for us to stay. There is an anchorage outside; it was too late for us, but it may be an option, and it's free.

Once we had looked around and got to know the area, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. The residence itself is very nice, clean, and air-conditioned, though there are a few things to know. The beach right by the accommodation is stony, including in the water, which could be tricky for children and older people. The main beach is about a 20-minute walk away, and sun loungers there cost between 6,00 € and 20,00 € each. There's also a pool near the apartment, but it has a daily fee: 120,00 € for four people, including four loungers.
