Vila Podvin

Lunch was excellent, and the garden setting was lovely. They easily accommodated our gluten sensitivity, and the tea pairing worked so well. It was a pleasant surprise and left us ready for the rest of the day while still letting us enjoy every part of lunch. Our server was top notch, friendly, communicative, and knowledgeable, and did everything he could to help. The buttermilk sauce with trout stood out, as did the preserved rhubarb dessert. That slight crunch was sublime, and the flavors went together perfectly. We’ll add this to our list of places to visit when we get the chance.

The staff were amazing, and we really liked the hotel, especially the courtyard. We were pleasantly surprised to learn it had received a Michelin star in 2024. The food was definitely five-star, a very fine dining experience, and a really enjoyable one.

Just 10 minutes from Lake Bled, Vila Podvin makes a romantic place to get away, rest, and eat, whether you’re coming from Ljubljana airport or exploring the region. The rooms are cozy, with beautiful balcony views, and there’s a big, lovely yard for weddings and other special events. At the Michelin restaurant, dishes like frog legs and beef tongue are expertly prepared. Each plate has its own story and flavor.
