Our vacation got off to a terrible start. We’d booked for 15 days, but when we arrived at night they couldn’t find our reservation, even after we showed them the PDF with all the details. They then tried to move us to Sava, where we’d had a bad experience a few years earlier. We insisted on the hotel we’d booked, but the staff argued that Zagreb and Sava were the same hotel. We never got a room at the one we had chosen. After more than two hours of being sent back and forth, they put us in a room that wasn’t suitable. The manager confirmed the next morning that it wasn’t fit for use. We had to quickly book somewhere else and move out that day. They also seemed reluctant to change our reservation from 15 days to one, despite our telling the manager the night before that we planned to leave because of what had happened. They talked about “best intentions” and finding “the best room for us.” In the end, we paid the full nightly rate for a room we couldn’t live in. It was a very upsetting way to begin the trip.

The service was good and the food was okay, but they start taking things away 15 minutes before the meal ends, so be there on time. The hotel itself feels dated and needs renovation. Even the premium rooms didn’t feel premium to me, more like standard ones. I’d give it three stars at most, nowhere near four.
