The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the range of fresh fruit, generous tasty servings at the café, and the mango and strawberry ice creams. They also had freshly made pancakes and crêpes, and croissants made the French way. We were there the week before Christmas, and the lights and decorations nearby looked gorgeous. The hotel is right in the centre with easy access, and parking is included. It felt safe, though you have to ask at reception for the safe key. Staff were professional and helpful. There’s a large shopping centre close by, but we chose to explore bookshops and local markets in a nearby town. A pleasant stay, and we’d come back if we’re in the area.

The food was very good, and there were no kitchen smells. The man serving the tables was especially kind and smart.

10/10
The rooms were bright and had a nice view, and the staff were very kind. Hotel Paka is right in the town centre, with free parking, shops, playgrounds, bars, and restaurants all within walking distance. The lake is a few kilometres away, but it’s a lovely walk through town. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including coffee, tea, juice, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, and cookies. Definitely try the pancakes. We also went to the hotel’s cake shop, and every cake was delicious. A lovely stay, highly recommend it.

The cakes, desserts, and meals were good. There’s plenty of indoor seating in an attractive space, plus covered outdoor tables. The location is central, across from the town’s main square and close to the castle.
