Guesthouse Gorska Reka

We drove over from Koroška and found two empty tables, but the waiters gave us angry looks and said everything was booked, as is usual on Sundays, and that we'd have to wait about an hour. Those tables were reserved for 13:30, and it was only 12:40. It’s disappointing that a restaurant with its own website and several social media pages doesn’t use them to share information like this. The place looks good online, but the way it was handled felt really unprofessional. A complete waste of our time and money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We went last Saturday and had a great time. The service was excellent, and the food was really tasty with generous servings. Prices were very good too: carbonara, soup, two štrukli and two coffees came to 38 euros.

The restaurant has a lovely feel, right beside a small stream, and service was quick. I can’t comment on the accommodation, but the food was fantastic, portions were generous, and the prices seemed fair.

Six stars from me. On a very hot day during my motorbike trip, the owner or manager asked if I needed a beer while a staff member handled my check-in. That kind of service stood out. My burger at dinner was really good and incredible value. The room was spotless, had everything I needed, and the AC was already cooling it down. Breakfast was cheap, though I don’t know the exact price, and huge, easily enough for four people. They make good coffee too. Add the outdoor seating and a very good room rate, and it made for a great one-night stop.
