The facilities on paper cover a lot, from the lobby and good coffee at the bar to kind staff, wellness and sports options. The sports arena is a quality building, and the half-board food has the expected variety. Nothing fancy, but it is good. For people who aren't demanding and want hotel comforts, this is probably the most solid choice here. The rooms and outdoor paths leave you expecting more for the price. The rooms are heated, but cold air comes in around the balcony windows and doors, which makes nights unpleasant. In some rooms, the children's room connects by a narrow, steep staircase that seems dangerous for kids, who could easily fall. I'd rate the quality feel closer to two stars, even though the hotel lists all the standards of a three- or four-star place. This doesn't feel like a three- or four-star hotel. The staff are pleasant, but at the Koča restaurant the waitresses have a very old-school attitude. Best to order and keep quiet so you don't bother them. Asking for too much, or for zelje z žganci without sausage, seems to be the worst thing you can do. That's the feeling you get.

At the very top of the mountain, this place charges €400 a night for rustic, outdated accommodation, which is far too much. The food is worse than a student canteen, and you can hear between the rooms because there's no soundproofing.

The paths to the ski slopes were complicated and poorly maintained, at least in winter, even though the hotel is close enough. You can leave your ski gear at the Planja Hotel ski center, and you can drive to Planja Hotel but not to Brinje Hotel. We'd come back. The rooms are clean and big enough, and the small hotel is very quiet, even with children from the ski club in the neighboring rooms. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the Planja Hotel, where the food is varied and good.

We had a lovely view from the balcony and peaceful, pleasant surroundings, with the ski slopes nearby. The rooms were tidy, clean and warm, the beds comfortable, and the maids were there to help every morning. We could also use the swimming pool at Planja hotel. Everything is close by, and it worked very well for our family of five.
