Elisabeth Old Town

It’s a good value for the money, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Both the main bus terminal and the old town are within a good walking distance. My room was very tidy, though nothing flash. The one downside was hearing noise from the hallway.

The building was pleasant and very conveniently placed for walking to the old town, with the Blue Church very close by. Our room was nice, the beds comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and the bathroom was good. It also had a fridge. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans provided worked well. With the windows open, the room was a good temperature for sleeping. We stayed on a Thursday, and bin collections on the street below began around 6am. It sounded like 3 or 4 separate collections between 6 and 10am, which woke me up. Breakfast is optional and available from 6 to 10am for an extra charge. There’s also a cafe right outside, plus other places to eat down the street. We were very happy with our stay.

Coffee roasters and bakeries are nearby in this interesting residential area just east of the centre. It’s a nice little place, posher than I expected. The centre is a 10-minute walk, and the tram or bus stop is 5 minutes away. Definitely worth considering if central places are full.

The location made this little hotel really convenient, and it’s easy to get around on foot. The rooms are pretty barebones, but clean, well designed, and comfortable. It was exactly what I needed for one night.
