Hostel Blues

We had a couple as roommates who made the stay much more enjoyable. In February it was quiet, with not many people around. The hotel is close to bus stations and the city centre, and while the rooms are small, they and the bathroom were clean. The beds were comfortable, though the pillows weren’t, and the room felt a little cold. A good budget choice if you don’t plan to spend much time at the hostel.

The hostel is right in the centre, so you can walk to everything. My friend and I stayed one night, and found the room and hostel clean and well kept. Staff were helpful and sociable. Thanks to the Koala girl for the restaurant tips and for keeping me company at the hostel bar. :)

The location is handy, with tram access and the main train station nearby. The hostel can arrange a 5 euro taxi to the station if you ask, which was helpful. Reception staff were welcoming and suggested things to see nearby; they also have vouchers for pub crawls and similar events on different days. There’s a mini bar, but I’d head out to explore the city at night, where food and drinks are reasonably cheap. The hostel was clean and the service was wonderful.

There’s always someone around who’s up for a party, so this was a great stay for me. The hostel blues has a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly, helpful and informative staff. The toilets and washrooms were very clean, and the kitchen had everything needed to cook. Reception doubles as a bar, with cheap, cold beer. I’d choose this sort of hostel over a more exclusive one any time.
