Hotel Arcus Garden

Our Airbnb reservation was cancelled at the last minute, and luckily we found a room at hotel Arcus. Even though reception was nearly closing, they welcomed us and gave us a very nice room. It's a small, old-style place in the best sense, with the feel of a family-run business. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere warm and cozy. They provide free instant coffee and tea in the rooms, and the hotel is in a quiet area close to the center. When we next visit Bratislava, hotel Arcus will be our first place to check for availability.

A quiet, family-run hotel, old but clean, with large rooms and bathrooms fitted with huge bathtubs. It's about a 20-minute walk from the historic center.

The staff worked really hard, and breakfast was amazing, with pancakes and waffles cooked to order. We had a great stay in a spacious, clean room, and parking had been arranged.

The garden was a lovely place to unwind, and I was glad I could sit there after checkout while waiting for my mid-afternoon boat. The hotel is small, local, friendly, and comfortable, just the kind I like. I can see why Lonely Planet recommends it. My single room had a beautiful balcony and a super-comfy bed; the Wi-Fi and hot water both worked perfectly. There was a mini-fridge and kettle too. The fan kept the room cool, though air conditioning would be a welcome addition. Breakfast was varied and plentiful enough that I didn't really need lunch. Shared spaces were available as well. I walked from both the bus and train stations, and could get to all the places I wanted to see in Bratislava on foot. Highly recommended.
