Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava

I've stayed here several times and plan to come back. The Old Town location is excellent, and the airport bus stop is very close, which made getting there easy. My one-bedroom apartment was spacious, lovely, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Staff were always helpful and friendly, and the castle view from the room was stunning. 🙂😊

Adriana at reception made a great first impression: she was warm, welcoming, and helpful, and check-in went smoothly. The rest of the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional too. The spa was relaxing and well maintained, a wonderful place to unwind after a long day. Park Inn by Radisson Danube, Bratislava is clean, modern, and comfortable, with a very convenient location. I had a fantastic stay and would happily return. Highly recommend it.

The bed and bathroom were the only real positives. Breakfast was acceptable, though nothing special. We used to enjoy this hotel before the renovation, but this stay was so disappointing that we won't return. Check-in took an hour, with just two receptionists handling the line very slowly. The spa, one of the reasons we chose the hotel, was completely full when we went to use it. Our TV didn't work, and getting help by calling reception seemed impossible. Long check-in queues were still there into the evening. The worst problem was the noise. A nightclub below the hotel blasted music all night, even though we were on the second floor. We also heard odd sounds, like people moving chairs, and street noise came through the window. We couldn't get a proper night's sleep.

The location is a strong point, near the city center, and you can pay more for a city view. Service was also good: staff were polite and answered my questions. I'd rate the spa three stars. The steam room and sauna were fine, if nothing special, and all three facilities I used were clean. The pool looked okay from outside, but inside it felt neglected, with cracks, little space, and a depth of only about 1.55 meters. I also saw a naked child while entering it, which I didn't understand. I'd give the rooms one star. For a hotel described as modern and contemporary, I expected at least an adequate standard. The bed area looked fine at first, but the headboard's neon strip had marks where it was ripping. It seemed odd and could suggest a bug issue, though I didn't see any bugs during my stay. The bathroom ceiling had a few water marks, but no bad smell and not the worst damage I've seen. The separate toilet room was fine, but its old bath and shower combo looked dated. The room was mostly clean and included free sparkling water. I was disappointed, though not surprised, that my view was of the courtyard rather than the Danube. The hotel has a modern facade but feels run down inside. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, but it edges closer to three despite the poor rooms. Avoid the lobby toilets downstairs, they reeked of urine, as if they hadn't been cleaned in a week. As an Irish person, I also found it a bit of a culture shock that the designated smoking area outside made the entrance smell of cigarettes.
