Pension Zlata Noha

The setting is beautiful, with amazing nature and a lovely balcony. Outside there's a table and chairs plus a swing couch, a really calming spot to relax. The room was pretty nice and had enough space, but I got bitten by bedbugs. Several bites showed up after my second night and they itch like crazy. The receptionists knew only three English words, “night,” “thank you,” and “hello,” and they were hardly ever there. If you don't speak Slovakian, you may miss the rather hidden sign telling you to call a number for someone to come. They weren't very friendly either. They said I couldn't pay by card, but when I said I'd go to the ATM and pay that evening, they immediately brought out the card machine. Cheap taxis and the surroundings didn't make the stay more comfortable. All together, it wasn't a bad stay, and I'd put it somewhere between 2 and 3 stars.

The only good things were the free parking and the view from the terrace. The owner and the person translating on a mobile phone weren't able to answer my questions in words, so we had to use gestures. They don't accept bank cards, only cash. I agree with the other comments saying the hotel is bad. Its location gives it potential, and if the owner invested in renovating it and addressed the issues people have written about, it could become a much more remarkable place. Not recommended. There are much better options in the neighboring area.

Our room was clean and okay, but it was much smaller than the ones shown in the online pictures. The other three people with us got a better, bigger room. The rate was about average for Bratislava. I had booked online and stated our arrival time, yet the rooms weren't ready. We waited more than 15 minutes in the lobby. The older person handling check-in was very slow with the computer and didn't know any English. The card machine was so slow that in the end we got cash and paid that way. There was a radiator in the room, though I couldn't tell if it worked. It was a little cold at night, and my husband caught a cold. Between the wait, check-in problems, and room temperature, I can only give it 2 stars.

The owner helped me check in outside the hotel's usual hours, and the views were nice. Public transport reaches the location, and breakfast was really good!!!! But the Wi-Fi barely worked, and there was no hot water at all. The owner was nice, though.
