River View Residence Hotel

The team kindly waived the fee for my late checkout, which I really appreciated. Parking was included and only 200m away, and breakfast was good. My room in this charmingly converted architect’s house was spacious and bright, with a stunning river view and a huge terrace to enjoy it from. The place was peaceful and comfortable. A great, distinctive base in Bratislava.

The river view from the big balcony was incredible, and the terrace is a lovely place to have breakfast, even though the breakfast itself was very basic and disappointing. The family apartment was huge, with a bedroom, living room with a TV, and separate walk-in closet. We missed having a TV in the bedroom, and the sofa wasn’t very comfortable. Getting to the city center means going downhill and climbing back up, though there’s a bus stop close to the hotel. The road up to the hotel was badly damaged and unlit, which surprised us, and walking downhill on the broken pavement felt a bit unsafe. I’d still recommend it to people visiting Bratislava who want to relax somewhere beautiful. That view is hard to beat.

That river view is amazing. The apartments are new and clean, and the reception girl was positive and nice. The kitchen and breakfast are downstairs. There was coffee and yoghurt, enough to get you through the day. I do recommend the place, and beautiful Bratislava Castle is nearby. A couple of practical issues, though: it wasn’t clear whether rooms were cleaned or who was meant to change the towels, and nobody did that for us. If I misunderstood, mentally give it a star back. The street entrance is inconvenient, the road is very narrow for large cars, and there are only three parking spaces.

Our two-bedroom apartment was enormous, and the beds were comfortable. The terrace had a fantastic view, and breakfast was decent. Parking is somewhat far away, but that wasn’t a big issue.
