Chata pod Lipou

We stayed at the cottage in August 2024 and wouldn't choose it again. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. There were some good points, but the issues got in the way. The owners were quick and easy to communicate with. The outdoor seating was nice, the pool was great, and we enjoyed the gazebo by the grill. There are large rooms, plenty of parking for several cars, and enough yard space for a good game of ping pong. Having a shop nearby was handy, and the surroundings are nice for walks and cycling. There's also an older Xbox with games for anyone who likes that. The biggest problems were the doors and the upstairs bedrooms. Most of the doors, including the front door, rubbed against the floor and squeaked, and wouldn't close properly. Going to the toilet at night woke the whole cottage, and you couldn't even shut yourself in the toilet. If you don't mind that, it may not bother you. The upstairs rooms have large windows all along one side of the house, but no curtains or blinds. We knew exactly when dawn came, and by 6 the sun was shining in our eyes. Those of us upstairs didn't sleep well. There are other things that need attention too. The guest book has one list with the personal data of everyone who stayed before. I recommend the owners or managers look into GDPR. We were already leaving and the children were nervous, so we didn't pursue it, but it's definitely not okay. Some windows were hard to open; the ground floor blinds were worn, and I don't think the living room ones worked at all. That could be an even bigger problem in winter. Although the cottage sleeps 9, the shared room and kitchen don't seem set up for that many people. There are only 2 loungers by the pool. A small clothes dryer would be useful with a pool, and the trampoline in the yard was broken, so we didn't use it. The downstairs toilet leaked, and the bathroom had no key. The upstairs toilet had no key either, though that wouldn't have helped because its door wouldn't close. The upstairs rooms are large but have no armchairs or chairs, and the equipment felt a bit unfinished and impractical. They also get brutally hot in summer, which can affect your sleep. Opening the windows doesn't solve it since there are no mosquito nets. The look of the construction work was another downside. We knew beforehand there was no dishwasher or coffee maker, but it would be nice to have them, perhaps instead of a popcorn maker. For what the cottage offers, I don't think the price is justified.
