Hotel Rimava

The food was pretty good, and the room itself was quite nice, but the bathroom was awful. We stayed four days, and the place feels like its best days are behind it. Without a car, there isn't much to do besides walk around the village, so it got boring. We were really taken aback when they charged extra half-board for our four-year-old, using the same 3-12 age bracket. I can't imagine a three- or four-year-old eating like a twelve-year-old. They should think that policy over. We won't be coming back to Číž.

What I loved most was how quiet the village was. That kind of peace really does you good. The treatments were great too, and the staff there were lovely. Reception staff were great as well, though they seemed overloaded. Maybe reception could handle just the pools and treatments, or only one of those, to ease the pressure. The rooms were clean and great, but the bathroom fan needs a good clean, and there was nowhere to put a towel while showering. The kitchen was fine, though I expected more vegetarian choices. The sauna felt a bit small, and the Kneipp bath wasn't working, which would have been a nice way to spend time instead. One idea for the services: a beauty or hair salon for women, and maybe men too. A face mask or fresh hairstyle after a spa visit is lovely, and it wouldn't even need to be on site. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

The countryside is lovely, but you'll be bored without a car. Even with 30° heat, the pools were still closed during our stay because the director hadn't managed to get them ready in time. Those temperatures had been around for a month before we arrived, yet the director showed no interest in opening them sooner and was very arrogant. The rest of the staff were helpful. We were very disappointed by the director's attitude, and I wonder why the spa management doesn't pay more attention to its clients. I've been going to spas for years and have never seen management behave like that. I'm surprised this spa hasn't gone bankrupt, given how unwilling the director seems to adapt to what clients want.
