Penziv N Central Park

We paid a lot compared with other hotels in the area, so expected a certain standard. The pool, basically the main reason we booked, was closed on Thursdays, and we hadn't seen that mentioned on the website or booking.com. With the windows open, train noise from the room was awful. With them closed, the AC barely worked, so it was either too hot or a noisy night's sleep. The hot breakfast food was completely inedible, absolutely disgusting. The cold pastries were okay, but not what we expected from an "upmarket" hotel. When we finally got into the spa, it didn't feel child-friendly or woman-friendly. There were 3-5 older local men in the hot tub and walking around without clothes. The pool was grubby and didn't look like the photos. Service throughout our stay was miserable and frankly rude. I'd urge anyone considering this hotel to reconsider.

The rooms had a few issues, including no blinds, so there was too much light at 5:30am. Still, this was good value for money, and I recommend it. The location is really great, service was perfect, the staff friendly, and the kitchen pretty good.

Central Park is in Park SNP, just a two-minute walk from the city centre and five minutes from the railway station. Reception is open 24/7, there's a restaurant in the hotel, and parking is free. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was quite good, with a range of choices, including some typical Slovakian food you'll recognize when you see it. There's also a swimming pool and sauna, though you need to reserve the sauna. Enjoy your stay!

We had a family celebration here, and it was a nice stay overall. The service was very good and everything we needed was there. The location is perfect, very close to the city centre. I did have two complaints: the wellness area smelled bad, and the pork sirloin was prepared very unprofessionally and was extremely dry.
